Color Garden

Peek behind the scenes! Hill's art making is one of slow, steady and meditative practice. She uses plants from her local area, including her backyard color garden and sustainably sourced materials to create paint. All of her fantastic illustrations are made with natural paint. Processes of natural paint making include foraging on walks and travels, grinding, mixing, testing and experimenting, and constantly learning from each place and season. The pigments are alive, ever-changing and intimately connected to Hill's well being alongside ecological and cultural health of the world.

Want to learn about natural paint making? COMING SOON Hill is releasing a series of pre-recorded workshops 'Exploring Natural Paint' for all curious minds.
